History of the Department
The Department was created in 1999 at the Faculty of Cybernetics and was initially called the "Department of Information Systems" and on August 30, 2002, by the order of the Academician Stepan Demianchuk IUEH Rector it was renamed and became the "Department of Information Systems and Calculating Methods" and received the status of the graduating department in the speciality "Informatics" in bachelor educational and qualification level. It started to prepare bachelors for educational-qualification level bachelor in the field of preparation 6.040302 "Informatics" starting from 2011, and prepares specialists for educational-qualification level bachelor in the direction of preparation 6.050103 "Software Engineering" since 2013. Since 2016, it has been preparing bachelor's degrees in the specialties: 121 "Software Engineering", 122 "Computer Science and Information Technology" and 014 "Secondary Education (Informatics)".
The educational, methodological, research and organizational directions of the department are provided by the following teachers: PhD in Technology, Associate Professor Klymiuk Yu.E., PhD in Technology, Associate Professor Yuskovych-Zhukovska V.I., PhD in Technology, Associate Professor Shportko O.V., Doctor of Sciences in Physics and Mathematics, Professor Dzhun Y.V., Doctor of Science in Physics and Mathematics, Professor Kolupaiev B.B., PhD in Physics and Mathematics, Associate Professor, Professor of the Department Yanchuk P.S., PhD in Pedagogy, Associate Professor Lotiuk Yu.H., PhD in Pedagogy, Associate Professor Yasinskyi A.M., PhD in Technology Havryliuk V.I., PhD in Technology Yaroshchak S.V., Senior Teachers Bohut O.M., Zdanevych V.A. and Solovei L.Ya., who are professionals in the IT field.
During the existence of the department its staff published the results of their research in professional publications of Ukraine and abroad, materials and abstracts of international, all-Ukrainian and regional conferences, wrote a number of books and manuals.
The team of teachers is fruitfully working on the problem of training highly qualified, competitive information technology specialists. The work is carried out in all major areas: research, teaching, education.
