Department of Physical Education and Sport
The Department of Physical Education and Sports was founded in September 2017 in connection with the reorganization changes, where the Department of Wellness Sports and Pedagogical Disciplines and the Department of Physical Education were merged.
The activity of the department is aimed at:
- qualitative professional training of bachelors and masters of physical education;
- physical education and sports;
- ensuring proper professional applied physical training of university students;
- organization of sports and recreational activities at the university.
The Department of Physical Education and Sports is headed by PhD in Physical Education and Sports, Associate Professor Sotnyk Zhanna Hryhorivna. Deputy Head of the Department is Honoured Student of Education and Science of Ukraine, Honoured worker of physical culture and sports, Associate Professor Kukalets Mykola Mykolaiovych.

The teachers of the department systematically undergo internships at leading higher educational establishments of Ukraine and abroad.

"
The teaching staff of the department is modernizing the educational process. Namely, distance courses in disciplines are being developed, experience of teaching physical education and organization of sports leisure and recreation of leading universities of Ukraine and abroad is being introduced, and master classes on fitness are conducted.
One of the priority tasks of the department is the realization of international scientific and educational programmes. Teachers of the department actively participate in International conferences, have scientific publications in foreign collections of scholarly works.
Lecturer Petro Velinets, founder of the Cossack Martial Arts School, winner of the KM Award, represented Ukrainian Cossacks at the Ukrainian Culture Festival in Toronto (Canada, 2015), the Ukrainian Youth Camp in Chicago (USA, 2014), and toured across 29 North American states (2013), Days of Ukrainian Culture in the Baltic Sea (Riga-Stockholm, 2012), master classes on Polish voievodership (2011).
Together with the students the teachers of the department under the guidance of associate professor Koval V.V. perform volunteer work with people with disabilities «In the Midst of Smiles» (2017-2018 years).
The peculiarity of the work of the members of the department is close links with sports and health institutions of Rivne and Rivne region: the department of physical culture and sports management of youth cause and sports of Rivne regional state administration; communal Rivne regional centre of physical education and sports of the disabled of Rivne regional council "Invasport", CYSS, fitness centres.
Teachers and students regularly organise meetings with leading coaches and athletes. Students studying at the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities are proud to defend Ukraine's honour at the Olympic and Paralympic Games, World and European Championships.

Yaryna Matlo Master of Sport of International Class of Ukraine (MSICU) in Swimming among visually impaired athletes, two-time bronze medal-winner of the Paralympic Games (2008, 2012), medal-winner of the European and World Championships, was awarded with the Order of St. Princess Olga, 2-d and 3-d grade.
Yuliia Halinska MSICU in Judo among visually impaired athletes, bronze medal-winner of the XIV Paralympic Games (2012), European Champion (2013), World Champion (2014), Team World Champion (2015).
Oleksandr Pominov MSICU in Judo among visually impaired athletes , 9th place at XIV Paralympic Games (2012), silver medal-winner at European Championships (Azerbaijan, 2015), multiple winner of World and European Championships.
Roman Kurov MSICU Powerlifting among visually impaired athletes, Champion and World Champion (2011, 2012, 2013, 2015).

Serhii Frolov MSICU in Football among hearing impaired athletes, champion of the XXI Summer Deaflympic Games (2009), silver winner of the XXI Summer Deflympic Games (2013), bronze medal-winner of the world (2012), IVth place at the European Championships (2015) was awarded with Order for Courage, 2-d grade.
Nazarenko Oleksandr is a student of the Faculty of Health, Physical Education and Sports, MSICU of Ukraine among athletes with impaired vision: 2014, 2015 - bronze medal-winner of the World Championship (USA, South Korea); 2016 – a winner of the World Cup (Brazil); 2016 - silver medal-winner of the XV Paralympic Games in Rio de Janeiro (Brazil). He was awarded with the III Order of Courage, 3-d grade (2016). 2017 - bronze medallist at the European Championships, Walsall (UK).
Lohatska Liudmyla, the 4th year student of the Faculty of Health, Physical Education and Sports, Master of Sport (MS) of Ukraine among athletes with impaired visual: 2015 - winner of the Junior World Championships (Hungary); 2016 - participant of XV Paralympic Games (Brazil) - 7th place; 2017 - silver medallist and bronze medallist in the Walsall European Championship Team Championships (UK).
Omelchuk Oleh, MSICU of Ukraine in the sphere of bullet firing: 2016 - 1st place at the stage of the World Cup in 10m pneumatic pistol shooting (Munich, Germany); 2017 - 3rd place in 10m air rifle shooting, 2nd place in 50m small pistol shooting in the World Cup final in New Delhi, India. Ryzhykova Hanna, MSICU in Athletics: silver medallist of the XXX Games in the 400m relay race, silver medallist of the 400m hurdles Universiade (2013, Kazan, Russia), silver medallist in the 400m Hurdles European Championship (2018, Berlin, Germany). She was awarded the Order of Princess Olga.

Physical education and sport in higher education institutions is an integral part of the development of higher education institutions, which promotes the preservation of health, education of physical, moral, volitional and intellectual abilities of all participants of the educational process, organization of meaningful leisure of student youth and optimization higher achievements.
One of the tasks of the Department of Physical Education and Sports is to improve the forms of motivation and involvement of students in regular physical activity, taking into account the interests, wishes, abilities and individual characteristics of everyone in compulsory physical education classes and during his classes.
The main types of physical education and sports are scheduled classes aimed at generating general competencies for health and physical development and extracurricular activities aimed at increasing physical activity, sports and mass activity and improving students' sportsmanship.
The Department of Physical Education and Sports organizes classes in the following sports sections: football, chess, table tennis, mountain sports, ball shooting, athletics, swimming, basketball, volleyball.
