History of the Department
The Department of Physical Education and Sports of the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities was created in 1997.
Head of the Department of Physical Education, Associate Professor Kukalets Mykola Mykolaiovych is an honoured worker of physical education and sports.
Since 1997, the staff of the department has been constantly changing. Today at the department work:
Senior Teacher Omelianiuk Yurii Arsenovych;
They are working at the Faculty of Economics, the Faculty of History and Philology, the Faculty of Journalism, the Faculty of Law; Faculty of Cybernetics and institute of pedagogical education.
At the Department of Physical Education, groups have been created to improve sports skills in volleyball, basketball, football, mini-football, table tennis, power-lifting, ball shooting, athletics, swimming, karate fudokan, tourism, chess and checkers. Great efforts in the preparation of student-athletes are made by teachers and trainers of the Faculty of Health, Physical Education and Sports:
Sport Master of Ukraine - Poliukhovych Roman Vasylovych, athletics coach;
Omelianiuk Yurii Arsenovych - football coach;
Babeichyk Andrii Andriiovych - coach of arm sport
Honored Coach of Ukraine - Mamchur Taras Viacheslavovych, ball shooting coach;
Sports and team work
Physical education at the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities is an important component of the general culture of society, it is aimed at health promoting, developing the physical, moral, will and intellectual qualities of modern students.
Sports and team work at the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economic and Humanities is carried out in accordance with the provisions of the “Sport and Athletics contest "Spartakiad” of Ukraine among Universities", "Championship of Ukraine", “Sport and Athletics contest "Spartakiad” of the Region and the City" and “Sport and Athletics contest "Spartakiad” at the International University of Economic and Humanities among the combined team of the faculties. It covers the following main areas:
- participation of students in competitions among national teams of faculties;
- participation in student Universiades;
- participation in the Sport and Athletics contest "Spartakiad” of Ukraine among universities;
- Championships of Ukraine, Europe;
- All-Ukrainian tournaments;
- the Olympic Games;
