The video work should be the basis of the diploma project, provided that its quality and depth of theoretical material meets the qualification requirements for a bachelor's / master's degree. Video work means an audiovisual work (hereinafter referred to as a work of an established or innovative format, intended for publication in traditional or new media (multimedia platforms on the Internet). Both one work and a number of works with features of a single format (series) can be submitted for defense. The practical part of the project consists of a work and accompanying documents (information case) and should demonstrate the knowledge and competence acquired by the graduate during the training.

The applicant for higher education must:

  • identify and justify an important socially significant theme of the work;
  • to form the idea of the work and develop a step-by-step plan for its implementation from design to demonstration (video production technology)
  • choose the appropriate theme and ideas of the genre / format of the work, strictly adhere to the requirements for this genre / format or justify innovations;
  • independently or in a team to perform a number of works on the realisation of the work (script, shooting, editing, promotion).

RECOMMENDED GENRES / FORMATS OF WORKS

The work is an integral part of the radio project and genres are selected for it with a high degree of authorial origin, complexity that corresponds to the level of bachelor / master.

The required degree of complexity of the work (or several works) is determined and approved by the research supervisor of the project.

The work can be performed in established or hybrid genres / formats, as well as have a high degree of innovation;

- conversational formats (video blog, author's talk show, author's interview with an additional video series);

- information formats (information program, report);

- analytical formats (multicomponent TV magazine, investigation, review);

-artistic and journalistic formats (sketch, essay, documentary / feature short film, animated film, TV series);

- Internet and SMM-journalism (video case to the Internet portal, long grids with video elements, etc.).

AUTHORSHIP AND CO-AUTHORSHIP OF THE WORK

The work can be performed individually or by a group of students. The author's contribution of each student must be clearly defined and reflected in the captions and accompanying documents of the project.

REQUIREMENTS FOR THE WORK

The topic and idea of ​​the work must be relevant and socially significant. The expediency of the subject, idea and choice of genre / format of the work is substantiated in the theoretical part of the work.

 Quality and other parameters. The work assumes a high degree of authorship, and hence the presence of the author in the frame or behind the scenes. The work must be of sufficient quality for public notice. Audio and video must meet the requirements of the broadcast, be clear, understandable, unless permitted by the format. Musical accompaniment of the work must be author's or borrowed from open databases. The work must contain input, synchronous, informational and final captions.

If the work is made in the university SMC, it must also be copyright. References to the sources used should be indicated in the accompanying documents, and the necessary - in the captions, video borrowings are indicated by the title on the screen. Timing and number of works are correlated depending on the genre / format, the recommended total duration is from 10 to 30 minutes.

TECHNOLOGY OF PRODUCTION OF THE WORK

Applicants for higher education must individually or in a team to perform all stages of creation of the work, namely:

  • search and justification of the topic, idea, genre / format, writing a script application (See appendices);
  • processing of sources, formation of an information case (See appendices)
  • planning the production of a work from conception to presentation, writing a plan;
  • search for a script and the formation of the composition, in accordance with the requirements of drama, writing a script;
  • choosing the visual style of the work, searching for images of heroes or phenomena-problems, writing a short director's script (treatment);
  • recording of the work using the necessary technical means and techniques, recording quality sound;
  • review of the filmed material and drawing up of the assembly plan, if necessary, attraction of compilation material;
  • editing of the full version of the work and, if necessary, editing of the demonstration version of the work (teaser).

Criteria for estimation the work

The members of the commission estimate the project as a holistic development of theoretical and practical content. The commission should use the following criteria when estimating the practical part of the project,:

  • relevance and depth, social significance of the chosen topic, its ideological embodiment;
  • correspondence of the work to the chosen genre / format, degree of innovation;
  • own substantiation of the value of the author's work, the role of the author / presenter;
  • depth of research and development of the topic;
  • clear definition of objects, personalities and locations of shooting and their compliance with the stated idea and format of the work;
  • mastery of methods of collecting information, in particular, video and audio materials;
  • implementation of the principles of drama and composition, the presence of a motivated connection between the episodes;
  • originality of the plot and the presence of the author's style, developed interactivity of the work;
  • technical quality of the work, in accordance with the air parameters and requirements of the broadcast - television, Internet (images, sound);
  • accuracy of used information - verified sources, verified information; competent titration (names, surnames, titles), reliable citation (in particular, video citation)
