Youth for Peace: The XVII International Public Student Readings "I Vote for Peace" brought together guests from all over Ukraine and international partners
Today our university hosted the XVII International Public Student Readings "I Vote for Peace".
This year marks the 27th anniversary of the readings, which were initiated by a talented scholar and ardent patriot of our country, Stepan Demianchuk. He considered the idea of peace to be one of the most pressing problems facing humanity. Therefore, the purpose of the public student readings held annually at our university is to educate students in the spirit of peace.
The event was organized by the initiative group of the Department of General Pedagogy and Preschool Education. This year, the moderators of the readings were Liliia Melnychuk, Head of the Department of General Pedagogy and Preschool Education, and Alina Lavreniuk, Head of the International Project Department.
Students of grades 1-11 and international partners met at the plenary session, where they heard introductory remarks from the President of our University Anatolii Demianchuk, Rector Vitalii Demianchuk and Head of European Projects Development at the University of Bath Spa Ian Gadd. The importance of the annual readings was also noted by the participants: Mayor of Rivne Oleksandr Tretiak, Deputy Head of the Education Department of the Executive Committee of the Rivne City Council Valentyna Serediuk, Chief Specialist of the Division of Vocational and Higher Education of the Department of Education and Science of the Rivne Regional State Administration Maya Andreeva, Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Science of the Rivne Regional State Administration Maryna Pashkovska, Secretary of the University of Bath Spa David Newman, President of the European Institute for Continuing Education
After the plenary session, the participants worked in sections where they reviewed the students' works and discussed peace issues in depth.
This year's event is part of the project "I Vote for Peace: Cooperation and Compassion in Time of War," which is being implemented jointly with the University of Bath Spa with the support of Research England and the UK Department for Research and Innovation.
Additionally, twenty foreign partners from 13 countries expressed their support and condolences to the Ukrainian people who are defending their independence in the fight against the Russian occupier, and more than 250 students from 29 secondary schools in Ukraine and 13 representatives of foreign students sent their essays and poems to participate.
