History of the Department
The Department of Pedagogics is one of the leading divisions of the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economics and Humanities. Over the years, there have been significant changes in its quantitative and qualitative composition, scientific and methodological potential. In different years, depending on whether the department provided teaching cycles of pedagogical, psychological, fundamental disciplines, or only pedagogical, had the status of the department of pedagogy and psychology or only pedagogy.
Doctor of Sciences, Professor, Academician of the Higher School of Ukraine, a full member of the Academy of Pedagogical and Social Sciences, Excellence in Education of Ukraine A.S. Demianchuk was appointed as Head of the Department of Pedagogics and Psychology.
They worked here since the founding of the department: Demianchuk A.S., Demianchuk S.Ia., Yamnytskyi M.N., Fedorovych V.H., Petruk A.P., Petruk O.M., Yevheichuk T.I., Pelekh Yu.V., Matkovska O.O. The department of pedagogics and psychology as a subdivision of the institute began to work in this structure.
The first laboratory assistant was Mykytenko L.I. (1993-1997). She was replaced by Rozum N.V., then Onopriichuk H.A., Ivanchuk I.L., Rudiuk I.V, Bolba O.V., Maksymchuk N.S.
In the first years of work at the department there were few lecturers with scientific degrees and titles, required scientific and methodological development and implementation of teaching technologies in higher education, involvement of lecturers in research, identification and implementation of areas of cooperation with schools, etc. Success in solving various problems, both in the first and subsequent years, was largely due to the activities of the Head of the Department and his Deputies. (Petruk A.P., Pahuta T.I., Petruk O.M.); correct definition of tasks in a certain period, scientific and methodological qualifications, organizational skills, leadership styles, personal qualities.
They have been working since the start of the Department: 2 academicians, 2 associate professors, 4 senior lecturers, 1 lecturer. From 1993 to 1997 the lecturers of the department defended 4 PhD dissertations: Petruk A.P. (1995 r.), Petruk O.M. (1997 r.), Pahuta T.I. (1997 r.), Krutii V.A. (2001 r.).
Every year the department holds public student readings "I vote for peace" at the initiative of the founder of the university, Doctor of Sciences, Professor, Academician Demianchuk S.Ya. Students of secondary schools of I-III grades of different regions of Ukraine are involved in the readings.
Lecturers of the department provide teaching disciplines of the pedagogical cycle, which are included in the list of professional for primary school teachers, educators of preschool education, Ukrainian language and literature, geography, as well as pedagogical disciplines for students of cybernetics, journalism, HPES. In this regard, the academic staff of the department works on the creation of educational and methodological complexes in the relevant disciplines and on the publication of textbooks, teaching aids and guidelines.
The Department of Pedagogics closely cooperates with secondary schools of the city, centers of social services for families, children and youth, summer health camps, training and rehabilitation centers, etc. Practical and laboratory classes on pedagogy, basics of pedagogical skills are held, the experience of qualified teachers is borrowed, and students undergo pedagogical practice.
It has become a tradition every year, in April, to hold a week of the Department of Pedagogics. As part of this work, various events are organized for students: acquaintance with new pedagogical literature, pedagogical readings, master classes, meetings with leading lecturers of the city and region, the first round of the pedagogy Olympiad, issue of the wall newspaper "Pedagogical Bulletin", competition "Lets go, girls!” and other.
Currently, the department has 5 full-time lecturers, including 2 Professors, Doctors of Sciences, 3 Associate Professors, PhD.
The staff of the department is constantly in creative search.
