Department of Primary and Preschool Education

The Department of Primary and Preschool Education functions within the Faculty of Pedagogics, is a graduate department of "Bachelor", "Master" in the speciality "Primary Education", "Preschool Education".

The Department of Primary and Preschool Education explores the problems of studying the possibilities of optimisation of the system of pedagogical activity of primary school teacher, kindergarten teacher, accumulates theoretical, technological developments in these fields, provides the necessary information, advisory, methodological assistance, and also actively deals with current issues and is actively involved in the research of current problems of modern primary school, children's educational institution. This is facilitated by the maximum approximation of the educational process to scientific and practical work. The department conducts weeks of the department, pedagogical tournaments, competitions and seminars.

Members of the Department of Primary and Preschool Education introduce the idea of humanisation into the educational process, widely use credit-module training, technologies of personality-oriented approach during classroom classes, role-playing, business games; elements of integrated learning and museum pedagogy; developmental, differentiated, individualised, computer, interactive, design and media technologies; solving pedagogical situations during practical and laboratory classes.

In order to train highly qualified specialists in primary and preschool education, lecturers have prepared electronic educational and methodological complexes of subjects used by students during self-study.

Lecturers of the department are constantly working on improving the degree of higher education "Bachelor" and "Master", take into account the modern requirements for the formation of the competencies of the specialist of the 21st century, increasing its competitiveness on the labour market.

Rule: educational work with children of early and preschool age.

Analyse: physical and mental development of preschool children, planning and conducting classes and other moments in preschool education; advanced pedagogical experience of preschool education and creative introduction of it into their work; own pedagogical experience and predict its use, correction, dissemination; pedagogical, psychological, methodological literature and improvement on its basis of own experience (professional level); the work of tutors and their methodological assistance.

Develop: plans for conducting classes, educational activities with preschool children, ways of using means of physical and mental development of preschool children, methods and technologies of preschool education.

Organise: children's life on the basis of advanced methods and technology of pedagogical activity: care for children's health, study of individual personality of children, collecting facts of children's behaviour, designing the development of personality of each child and children's collective, selection of new forms and methods aimed at forming the child's attitude to nature, environment, other people and himself, the interest and knowledge culture, the pedagogical process in a preschool institution, the use of new forms that provide effective child development, design and leadership of various activities of children, pedagogical management of the behaviour and activity of children.

Provide: education and training of preschool children in preschool educational institutions of state, departmental and private subordination and in conditions of family upbringing.

Control: the nature of the influence of tools and methods on the physical and mental development of pre-schoolers.

4. The graduates will be able to work as: a preschool teacher, a teacher in all specialities in the field of preschool education (with a bachelor's degree), a teacher of preschool children in boarding school, a tutor of preschool children in a children's sanatorium, a family tutor (governor), a family education consultant, a tutor-methodologist, a practical psychologist in educational institutions, a tutor of orphanages, an inspector-methodologist of departments of education, a teacher of foreign language in preschool institutions.
