On September 27, the final thematic meeting of the summer field school "Mountain Ecosystems and Resource Management" took place. Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economics and Humanities acted as a partner of an international project in which scientists from 31 universities, representatives of 35 national parks of the world, public organizations took part.
For nine days, school participants had the opportunity to listen to lectures by leading scholars from around the world. It is Pleasantly to know that PhD, Assoc. Prof. of the Department of Geography and Tourism Romaniv A. S., among 99 expert lecturers from 36 countries of the world, presented his report. His lecture "Problems of nature conflicts on the example of national parks of the Ukrainian Carpathians" was aimed at revealing important problems of protected areas of the Carpathians, namely: deforestation, development of ski resorts and mini-hydroelectric power plants in protected areas zones, excessive recreational load on certain landscapes of national parks, etc.
Students from the Department of Geography and Tourism also had a positive experience of participating in the project: Assoc. Prof. Yaromenko O.V., Assoc. Prof. Shykula R.R., Tokar O.I.
