

The IUEH implemented an academic mobility program within the framework of the grant project “Ukrainian centers of therapy for health and fitness vol 2.0”, co-funded by the Polish-American Freedom Foundation as part of the RITA program “Changes in the Region”, implemented by the Education for Democracy Foundation,
In the period from 24.03.2025 to 30.03.2025, the project coordinator, senior lecturer at the Department of Human Health and Physical Therapy Ihor Petruk; Associate Professor of the Department of Human Health and Physical Therapy Olena Sirman; students of the Faculty of Health, Physical Culture and Sports of the IUEH Ivanna Lukianchuk and Kateryna Zaruzhko joined the academic mobility program under the grant in Bydgoszcz, Poland.

The program was coordinated by the main project implementer AZS WSG (Poland). IUEH teachers and students, together with colleagues from Ivan Bobersky Lviv State University and Kharkiv State Academy of Physical Culture, participated in various events for 5 days.
During the program, all participants underwent preliminary testing, took part in lectures and practical trainings, learned about sports for people with disabilities and gained skills in wheelchair mobility, safety techniques and overcoming obstacles. One of the program's activities was a visit to the Braille school in Bydgoszcz for the visually and hearing impaired, where participants took part in a seminar and learned techniques to support people with visual and hearing impairments.

The teams had the opportunity to take part in practical goalball lessons for blind people, master the methods of conducting classes and practicing skills at a seminar for people with disabilities in such adaptive sports as table tennis, archery, and paraboxing. Particularly impressive and useful were the water activities in the process of rehabilitation of people with disabilities in the swimming pool of the University of Economics in Bydgoszcz.

During the visit, the delegation also visited the Iron Arena in Poznan and joined classes on rehabilitation and social adaptation of people who move in wheelchairs and with the help of prostheses using cross-fit techniques. Ukrainian servicemen also took part in integration classes in this arena.
Teachers Ihor Petruk and Olena Sirman, along with their students, successfully passed the test and received international certificates. In order to further implement the project, IUEH received additional equipment: 2 Cornhole games, 1 Boccia game, and an active functional wheelchair
