On March 28, 2023, as part of the activities of the intercultural project club "Opening the Borders", a video conference was held with the participation of students from IUEH and Tel Aviv University (Israel). The virtual meeting was dedicated to the topic of basic values in society and the understanding of happiness. The event was attended by applicants for the second master's and first bachelor's degrees in the specialty "014 Secondary Education. Language and Literature (English)" of the Faculty of History and Philology, as well as first-year bachelor's degree students of the Faculty of Health, Physical Education and Sports.
This time, the project participants communicated in six mini-groups, making reports and showing prepared presentations covering certain aspects of the topic. At the next stage, the participants discussed what is lacking for absolute happiness, considered the concepts of egoism and altruism as opposite ways to achieve happiness, and finally identified the components of happiness as perceived by Ukrainians and Israelis. In general, the event was held in a positive and relaxed atmosphere, in the form of a friendly dialog. Summarizing the meeting, the members of the "Opening the Borders" club shared their impressions of participating in the project, while identifying the priorities of happiness and the differences in the understanding of this concept by representatives of the two cultures.
The organized online event helped students overcome intercultural and language barriers, and became a platform for participants to openly express their ideas and attitudes toward the issues raised.
