On October 28, 2021, the Faculty of History and Philology hosted an online literary event dedicated to the 115th anniversary of the birth of Ivan Bagrianyi. Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Literature Liliia Ovdiichuk demonstrated a multimedia presentation "Prisoner of Honor" in a duel with the era", created after the author's afterword to the educational reprint in 2006 of the novel "Tiger Hunters". Ivan Bagrianyi was an innate leader, insanely desperate, a lover of life and an optimist, and a "prisoner of honor," who boldly challenged a cruel age.
Natalia Vasiuk, the leading librarian of the RRUSL reading room invited to the online meeting, demonstrated various editions of the writer's books, motivated them to read books, both paper and digital, which are available in the library.
Students of 1-4 years, who read the story "Tiger Hunters", voiced their essays "My impressions of the work." Since the competition for the best essay has been announced, future philologists still have the opportunity to join the competition.
Chairman of the Jury, Associate Professor of the Department of Ukrainian Language and Literature Ivanna Sarkisova, will announce the results after processing the texts and determining the winners in the November days at the faculty, which began with this event. The best works will be posted on the page of the Faculty of History and Philology in FB.
