The scientific workshop "Principles of research design: formulating research objectives” was held on 30.10.2024 by the Research Support Office of the Bath Spa University (UK). The event brought together the academic community of Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economics and Humanities to discuss important aspects of research work. In particular, the workshop was attended by scholars and applicants in various fields: English philology, pedagogy, economics and cybernetics.
The participants discussed various methodological approaches that help to clearly define the purpose and issues of the research, as well as answered topical questions related to the formulation of hypotheses and the development of “good” and “bad” research objectives.
During the event, the main problems that may arise when defining a research topic were considered, and group discussions were organized to facilitate the exchange of views. In addition, British and Ukrainian scholars shared their experience and practical tools for selecting relevant sources and analyzing materials.
