Research and innovation work at the Department of Primary and Preschool Education is subordinated to the leading dominant - the research topic: "Professional training of future teachers of preschool education and primary school in terms of higher education" (state registration number 0118U001565) under the guidance of Doctor of Sciences Krasovska O. O. Research and academic staff of the department systematically participate in the organization and holding of traditional conferences of the Academician Stepam Demianchuk IUEH of international level "Problems and prospects of higher education and economics in the XXI century" (2014, 2016, 2018, 2020) and all-Ukrainian level problems of modern education in the context of professional training of future teachers "(2014)," Modern primary school teacher: current trends and priorities "(2016)," Current problems of reforming preschool and primary education in Ukraine in the context of European integration processes" (2018, 2019) published in the university publication "Psychological and pedagogical foundations of the humanization of the educational process in school and university" and supervise the writing of articles for the collection of student research papers of the university.

Lecturers of the department ensure the functioning of the "Creative Workshop of Innovative Pedagogical Technologies" as a laboratory for studying advanced educational technologies of innovative pedagogical experience and the creation and operation of student problem-solving groups in its composition, which are involved in research in competitions of scientific works, performances in international and all-Ukrainian conferences and Olympiads in specialties 012 "Preschool education", 013 "Primary education". In 2019, students Kushcheva Yuliia and Savchuk Nataliia took part in the second stage of the All-Ukrainian Olympiad in pedagogy and methods of preschool education and won in the nominations "Pedagogical creativity", "High professional competence", and students Hanhur Viktoriia and Kovalchuk Mariia - in the second stage of the All-Ukrainian on pedagogy and methods of primary education and received awards for "Pedagogical activity" and "Pedagogical creativity".

At the Department of Primary and Preschool Education there is a postgraduate course for the purpose of training scientific personnel of the highest qualification in the specialty 011 "Educational, pedagogical sciences" specialization "Theory and methods of vocational education". Experienced researchers train graduate students, applicants, provide conclusions and preliminary recommendations for completed dissertations for defense. In particular, Academician Madzihon V. M., Professor Krasovska O.O., Associate Professor Soiko I.M., - supervisors of dissertation research of graduate students Mykhailovska Z. V. on the topic: "Formation of pedagogical competence of future teachers of philology in the process of continuous training" , Yusyn L. O. on the topic: "Professional training of future educators to ensure the conditions of continuity between preschool and primary education", Maksymchuk N. S. on the topic: "Theoretical and methodological foundations of training primary school teachers to form a comprehensively developed personality of the student by means of Ukrainian folklore ".

Scientists prof. Madzihon V. M., prof. Kukalets M.V., Assoc. Borova V.Ie, Assoc. Prof. Soiko I.M., Assoc. Khomiak O.A. are official opponents in the defense of PhD and doctoral dissertations in specialized councils of higher education institutions of Ukraine. Lecturer of the department prepare reviews of monographs, textbooks, reviews of abstracts of dissertations for the degree of PhD and doctor of pedagogical sciences, supervise the qualification work of applicants for higher education Master of Specialties 012 "Preschool Education", 013 "Primary Education". Associate Professor V.Ie. Borova received 2 patents for the invention of a utility model of speech therapy devices. The department organizes and provides advanced training of pedagogical and scientific-pedagogical workers in the specialties 012 "Preschool education", 013 "Primary education". Prospects of scientific and innovative activity - increase of full-time PhD and doctors of sciences of the department, increase of scientific qualification and pedagogical skill of the academic staff; increasing the language and speech competence of lecturers of the faculty in English - mastery of B1, B2; organization, holding and participation in scientific seminars, conferences, exhibitions (all levels and science park).
