On October 21, 2021, students of the Faculty of Law of the first (bachelor's) and second (master's) level of higher education and lecturers of the Faculty of Law took part in a lecture-discussion "What to do with ordered works?" American Councils on International Education within the framework of the academic integrity and quality initiative Academic IQ.
The speaker of the webinar was Veronika Krasnichan, Doctoral of Sciences of the Department of Law and Social Sciences of the Faculty of Business and Economics at the Mandel University (Brno, Czech Republic). Veronica is a leading expert in custom-made work in the Czech Republic, as well as a member of the European Network of Academic Integrity, one of the main researchers in the Global Essay Mills Survey, as well as the International Contract Cheating Project. Veronica was able to share her experience of participating in these projects at a meeting of the Pan-European Platform on Ethics, Transparency and Integrity in Education (ETINED) of the Council of Europe in 2018.
During the lecture, the concepts of custom works, their varieties, international student surveys on the experience of ordering works and the results of these surveys were discussed, the potential reasons why students resort to ordering educational and diploma works, the consequences that these dishonest practices bear, and also considered measures to be taken to identify and prevent custom works. Participants of the webinar had the opportunity to ask questions and communicate with the speaker.
