History of the Department

The Faculty of Mass Communication and Information Technology was created as a new structural unit at the International University "Academician Stepan Demianchuk Rivne Institute of Economics and Humanities" in 2005. The two departments began its work at the faculty: the Departments of Editing and Publishing, and the Departments of Theories and Techniques of Journalistic Creativity.

The Department of Theory and Methods of Journalistic Creativity has been headed by the PhD in Philology, Associate Professor Lubkovych Ihor Markiianovych, and later the Head of the Department was appointed Doctor of Science in Philology, Professor Shapoval Yurii Hryhorovych. Who worked until September 2020.

Teaching of professional disciplines is provided by the following lecturers: PhD, Associate Professor Myroniuk Valentyna Mykhailivna, PhD, Associate Professor Shkabarina Marharyta Andriivna, Honoured Journalist of Ukraine - Babinets Andrii Ivanovych, member of the board of the National Union of Photographic Artists of Ukraine Kharvat Oleksandr Mykolaiovych, Senior Lecturer Vyshnevskyi Mykhailo Yaroslavovych and Lecturer  Horchykova Anastasiia Oleksandrivna, as well as highly qualified specialists of modern mass media.
