The second day of the visit of a group of senior pupils from Stanytsia Luhansk together with the curators became active not only in the educational format, but also in public activities. The delegation met with the Mayor of Rivne Oleksandr Tretiak in the city council building. The visit took place in the format of a friendly dialogue, as the Mayor was interested not only in the plans and work schedule, but also asked about the impressions of the city and expectations from the study visit. Mr. Tretiak especially emphasized that he himself graduated from the Academician Stepan Demianchuk International University of Economics and Humanities, and therefore is confident in the quality of knowledge offered by lecturers of the University.
Meetings with political and public figures of the city continued in the public reception "Rivne Together". It was here that a memorandum on partnership and cooperation in the youth sphere was signed in order to establish strategic cooperation.
The guests were especially impressed by the excursions to the media outlets - radio "Track" and ITV Media Group. Together with the Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, PhD Victorii Zoliak and PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Communications Andrii Smus, the guests got acquainted with the internal "kitchen" of local media. As the main goal of the delegation in the future is to launch online radio, the visit to the popular local radio "Track" and communication with the management and creative team of the media became not only interesting, but also the most useful and informative. The local media giant ITV Media Group showed how large-scale media workers of Rivne region work and what modern technologies are capable of in successful use for informing and entertaining the audience. Delegates visited all departments of the editorial office and learned about the division of responsibilities between team members.
PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Social Communications Andrii Smus conducted a practical lesson, which addressed the issues of building the work of a local radio station. The recruitment process and the distribution of responsibilities among team members were discussed in detail. After excursions and communication with real local media teams, we managed to work in a "question-answer" format.
At the end of the busy day, students talked with curators with Natalia Medynska, the Vice-Rector for Academic and Methodological Work of the University, Doctor of Sciences, Professor of Ukrainian Language and Literature and Natalia Ternovyk, the Vice-Rector for Organizational and Educational Work and Social Issues and Development, PhD, Associate Professor of the Department of Psychology. This meeting focused on organizational issues of the organization of the educational process at our University. The guests were especially interested in our "highlights", namely student-centered learning, progressive educational programs and the opportunity for students to create their own vector of learning throughout the educational process. Of course, high school students were also interested in how actively and unusually constructed extracurricular work is and how widely each student can express himself in various clubs and art groups.
At the end of today's program, the delegation went to the zoological museum. Rostyslav Shykula, the Head of the Museum, PhD, showed several videos from his travels and clearly demonstrated all the curiosities he brought from his extreme voyages from around the world. Of course, the unusual exhibits interested not only students but also adult attendants, and the offer to "get acquainted" with them was received as positively as possible.
Ahead of the guests are two more, no less busy days, during which they will continue to study the experience of building a radio station and visit, in fact, the Internet radio station "Radio Respect".
