The second day of the visit of the IUEH delegation to the Bath Spa University was full of productive working meetings. The main directions of further cooperation for the academic year were discussed with the Vice-Rector for Research and Entrepreneurship John Strachan and Professor Ian Gadd.
University researchers took part in the ceremony of awarding the title of Honorary Professor to Ruksana Osman (University of Johannesburg, South Africa) for her significant contribution to the development of science and education at the international level. During the ceremony, her many years of work, scientific achievements and significant influence on the academic community were recognised.
We had the opportunity to talk to colleagues from the School of Education about equality, diversity and inclusion. The participants discussed the implementation of inclusive practices in higher education in Ukraine and the UK. Anna Parfitt, Professor at the School of Education, led a workshop on ethical compliance policies in research.
The next day, the IUEH delegation together with colleagues from the Bath Spa University had the opportunity to discuss important issues of research ethics and the use of artificial intelligence in the educational process.
In particular, they focused on the need for transparency in the use of artificial intelligence for student assessment, the risks of plagiarism, and ensuring integrity. The participants concluded that it is important and relevant to develop a policy of ethical compliance in the preparation and conduct of research.
