A meeting of DESTIN project participants has recently taken place to discuss prospects for further cooperation in the field of journalism within the framework of the European Journalism Training Association (EJTA).
As a reminder, the international grant project DESTIN (Journalism Education for Democracy in Ukraine: Developing Standards, Integrity and Professionalism) was implemented during 2018-2023 as part of the European Erasmus+ programme.
The DESTIN project played an important role in the modernisation of journalism education, helping to adapt the curricula of Ukrainian universities to European standards, and facilitated the establishment of links between partners both in Ukraine and abroad.
The meeting was joined by the Dean of the Faculty of Journalism, Viktoriia Klymiuk, and the Head of the International Project Department, Alina Lavreniuk. The meeting participants stressed the importance of further integration into the professional environment and active cooperation with EJTA to strengthen the position of Ukrainian journalism at the international level.

The participants analysed the results of previous initiatives and identified key areas of development that will help improve the quality of journalism education. The main topics of discussion were the training of future journalists in accordance with European standards, the exchange of experience between educational institutions and the introduction of innovative methods in the journalism teaching system.

The next step will be the development of joint initiatives and projects that will help raise professional standards in the media.
